STUART CHAMBERS, MBA (Warwick); BSc. (Bristol, Engineering)
Stuart draws upon fifteen years of hands-on operations and general management experience, and a similar period of teaching, research, and consultancy in Operations Management (OM), Operations Strategy, and Process Improvement within leading European business schools.
Starting his career as an apprentice with Rolls Royce Aerospace, Stuart graduated in Mechanical Engineering. He then gained operations management experience with Tube Investments, followed by a six year period as Factory Manager of one of the UK’s largest pre-cast concrete factories. He was then engaged as General Manager of a specialist building material manufacturer. Gaining an MBA at Warwick, he developed a passion for teaching and research in Operations Management (OM), which totally redirected his career aspirations.
Stuart has become a successful academic and consultant in the OM field, teaching MBA and executive courses, and publishing (with colleagues) several leading, influential textbooks in the field.
His consultancy now focuses on process improvement and waste reduction, increasingly in services, with major clients in the investment banking and healthcare sectors: nonetheless Stuart retains several high-profile manufacturing clients, and offers a very wide-ranging capability in business improvement.
RACHEL CORNISH, MBA (Warwick), PhD, MA (CANTAB)
Rachel Cornish is the Managing Director of Cornish WebServices Ltd, which provides Internet Marketing, and Website Consultancy services to businesses and other organisations throughout the UK and abroad.
Rachel has been using the Internet since the 1980’s within academic and research institutions, and has been designing, maintaining and marketing websites since 1998. She has always created search engine optimised websites as there is no business benefit in creating good looking websites that no-one can find.
Rachel is a Qualified Google AdWords Professional, and Cornish WebServices was the first UK company to have a policy of using only Qualified Google AdWords Professionals to manage client PPC marketing budgets.
Rachel is also a tutor for The Warwick MBA on subjects such as Information Management, International Marketing, Project Management and Modelling and Analysis for Management.
Earlier in her career Rachel worked for CEGB and later National Power, researching, designing and implementing decision support systems in technical areas such as energy trading and power station engineering. She obtained her PhD from research in Metallurgy.
RAY IRVING, BSc MBA
Ray holds a first degree in Information Studies and an MBA from the Open University. Working in the field of online teaching and learning at one of Europe's leading business schools, Warwick Business School (WBS), Ray has developed e-learning resources used by MBA students across the globe. On a consultancy basis, Ray has applied this process of e-learning to in-house programmes for business improvement and personal development.
Initially employed at the Chartered Management Institute (the UK's largest professional organisation for managers) as an Information Researcher, Ray helped develop the Institute's initial Internet presence and first electronic publications. Ray's written work appears in a number of published management books, covering the areas of knowledge management, strategy, Intranets, relationship marketing and flexible working
